On Tues. March 4th at 6:00 p.m., during the City Council Meeting, Mark Santoro who won the open seat on the city council by a mandate of almost 56% of the vote is scheduled to be sworn in by County Supervisor, Liz Kniss. Santoro ran a clean campaign, did not accept political, media or commercial endorsements and is a true political anomaly.

He ran on a mandate to make Cupertino’s city government transparent, and equal for all; his motto was “For The People”. Simple and to the point. Beginning with his first city council meeting, we look forward to seeing exactly what For The People and Transparency in City Government equate to. It’s a bit overwhelming. Since Mark Santoro is entering his political life not owing allegiance to deep pocket developers or special interests, who exactly are his “people”? Apparently, the citizens of Cupertino will now have their own “go-to-guy” on the city council. Wow. What a concept!! - editor
