Local growers promote organic and artisan foods

Knowg what to eat can be confusing.  Everywhere you turn, daily health topics emerge telling us what is or is not good for you.  California farmers markets are the perfect outlet to purchase healthy foods.  Bay area growers bring fresh picked locally grown seasonal vegetables and fruits to Cupertino each Friday from 9:00am-1:00pm.  Highlights by various vendors feature a menu of  Indian curries and chutneys, Vietnamese spring rolls, vegan pastries,  cheese artisans, fish, abundant whole grain and hearth style breads, distinctive popcorn, tofu, organic herbs, flowers and herbal products  to name a few.

Local chefs participate with Cookin’ in the Market, which is a program emphasizing fresh seasonal ingredients, healthy recipes, and simplified preparations.  Bay area chefs demonstrate techniques, which regardless of time or cooking skills, highlight techniques so you can cook fresh nutritious foods, which taste better and healthier.
Buying organics really does make a difference.  It’s mind over matter, that’s not to say you can always find the organics you’re looking for 24/7; sometimes it’s a matter of affordability and what’s in season.  But I know I have a conscious choice, and do my best to choose wisely. With this outcome, I am committed to look and feel great every day, and be a positive role model for my son.
The Cupertino Square Farmers’ Market is located on the east side of Wolfe Road and 280, just under the bridge in the JC Penney North Parking lot. Ample free parking is available next to the market.
