Measure B

As a former principal, I know how important having the proper
surroundings can be for students and staff can be. Ten years ago the
voters living in the Fremont Union High School District (Cupertino,
Fremont, Homestead, Lynbrook, Monta Visita High Schools) passed a bond
that allowed the District to refurbish 40 year-old classrooms,
including adding air conditioning. Just think over the last few days,
can you imagine 30+ students in rooms without that feature. The
students and staff are thankful for that improvement, but just like our
houses, schools need additional improvements after ten years.

Measure B will add classrooms and science labs. The district has now
more than 3000 students than it had in 1998 and enrollment in science
and mathematics has increased without an increase in lab stations or
classrooms.

Measure B will set up a technology fund. How many times have most of us undated our technology since 1998?

The district is interested in going green and saving large amounts
of money thorough use of solar lighting heating and cooling, replacing
our currently out-dated systems and improving our PE and Athletic
Fields.

As a home owner I know that the small investment ($12 per $100,000
of assessed evaluation) for Measure B will be paid back in the
increased value of my home, because homes in our district are coveted
by buyers who seek residences in our nationally recognized school
attendance areas.

I urge you to check out: www. AboutMeasureB. And vote yes on Tuesday, June 3.
