Lions Club Event Big Success

corn on the cob
Barbecued Chicken, fresh corn on the cob cooked by the corn king Jack
Feiniman, mouth-watering Italian sausage, and Chuck Hart¹s tasty chili were
the main dinner items at the Cupertino Host Lions Club¹s annual Chicken,
Corn and Sausage Feed held at the Quinlan Center in Cupertino on Saturday,
August 16, 2008.

Many guests came back and filled their plates again and
again enjoying the tasty food but many guests had already stuffed
themselves with the multiple starters of spare ribs barbecued by Don
Gagliasso and Dave Vieira, anchovy bread by Pete Camarda and John Boitano, fried calamari fried fresh by Jim Isaacson and his crew,  crisp vegetables prepared by David West, and pizza, and didn¹t save room for much dinner
not to mention Pete Camarda¹s delicious homemade peach cobbler.  The drinks were served by Patty Martinez and her family. In addition to the food there was a play area for small children, a silent auction and a raffle run by Wayne Nishiura. A fun time was had by all.
The club would especially like to congratulate David Barnes for chairing the event and to thank Jay Lawson and the Cupertino High School Leo Club for their help at the event they shucked most of the corn and served a lot of the food.
The Cupertino Host Lions Club Cupertino¹s oldest service club meets
Wednesday evenings at 7:15 pm at the Harvest Restaurant on De Anza Boulevard in Cupertino.  Interested people are cordially invited to come and explore membership with this great service organization.
