Pictures and Story by Howard Jensen
The Cupertino Host Lions Club hosted the club level of the Lions Multiple District 4 Student Speakers Contest for High School Students on Wednesday, February 4, at the Harvest Restaurant in Cupertino. This contest is held annually throughout California and the winner at each level advances to the next level, with the ultimate winner receiving over $20000 in scholarships.

This year¹s topic is “Water - Will California be Left High and Dry”. The club level contestants were Natasha Chitnis from Cupertino High School and Yichoa Hao from Monta Vista High School, and both speakers gave excellent presentations, and Yichao Hao was selected to be the winner in a very close finish. Yichao will advance to the Zone Level in the next few weeks. Club President Robert Ferber served as Chairman and Master of Ceremonies and the judges were Donna Austin, Mike Lovejoy, and Craig Stephan.
